Dr. Areiyu Zhang

MD, FRCSC

Dr. Zhang is a Reproductive Endocrinologist and Infertility specialist. Dr. Zhang was born in Beijing, China, and grew up in Ottawa. Dr. Zhang received her medical degree from the University of Calgary, then went on to residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of British Columbia. She completed her fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Ottawa. Dr. Zhang is a registered sonographer in obstetrical and gynecologic ultrasound with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.

 

Dr. Zhang is a Clinical Assistant Professor at UBC and spends time teaching fellows and residents. She sits on the REI committee of the Society of Ob/Gyns of Canada helping to develop national practice guidelines. She is a peer reviewer for REI journals.

 

With a research background in fertility and psychology, Dr. Zhang understands the psychological impact of infertility on her patients. She is committed to optimizing pregnancy rates while reducing treatment burden. She finds counseling patients and helping them navigate difficult decisions a deeply rewarding part of her practice.

 

Dr. Zhang lives in Vancouver with her husband, baby boy, and two dogs.

 

She is pleased to be able to offer patient care in English or Mandarin.
