Our story starts on April 2011. My husband and I had just gotten married. (I was 21 and my husband 24). We started trying for a baby immediately. I was worried it would take a long time and my husband worried it would happen right away. After almost two years of trying, we were referred to Olive Fertility (Dr. Nakhuda). After almost a year of running tests and trying to determine what the cause of us being unable to conceive was, he determined that I was not ovulating. I was given medication and we continued trying at home. Six months later we still had not conceived. We than turned to IUI. After 8 attempts of IUI, we still had not conceived. We chose to move on to IVF, after two weeks, 30 injections and an very painful egg retrieval we finally had 27 little eggs. After a closer look they determined that 17/27 were good quality and we fertilized those. 13/17 made it to day 3. When we went in to do our transfer it was determined that we would have to wait to do a transfer as my body was not ready. In day 5, we found out that 7/13 had made it and were ready to be frozen. A month later we came back to the clinic and had our perfect embryo was transferred. My due date was February 10th, 2017. On January 28th, 2017, after five days of labour our little angel Mila was born. We are now looking to the future and hoping to transfer another embryo at the end of 2018 or beginning of 2019. We hope our story brings you hope and inspiration. You are not alone on this difficult journey. Also remember that infertility is not just a struggle for older couples, there are so many young couples that are going through this too but may be ashamed or are not comfortable sharing their story.
