I saw your post for the #1in6...we've never shared our story before (although it is still ongoing...) Happy to share now;

Our journey to start a family began in 2014 after we got married.  After we had been trying for almost a year, we decided to seek help, and came to Olive Fertility Centre.  After many tests, all we could figure it is that we have unexplained infertility, although I also have a very low AMH.  We decided to start with IUI...and lo and behold, our first try was successful!  We had our daughter in December 2016, and were so incredible happy.  When our daughter was about a year old, we knew we should start trying sooner than later for a 2nd child.  We came back to Olive, and I was feeling incredibly overconfident - I figured if IUI worked the first time, why wouldn't it work again?  Our dr recommended that due to age and AMH levels, we should move right to IVF, but I didn't...or couldn't listen.  I remember thinking - there is NO WAY IUI won't work.  After 3 failed IUI procedures, it was finally time to move to IVF.  I picked up $6,000 of medication and started injections.  I remember the moment I came in for my first ultrasound.  The dr asked me how I was feeling and I said - I actually feel totally fine, no bloating, nothing.  I could tell by his face, this was not the answer they usually hear.  The ultrasound and blood work showed that I had not produced any follicles, and I was part of the small group of women who fall into the "non-responder" group.  This was our first of many setbacks on our IVF journey.  It has now been 3 years and we are prepping for our 6th round of IVF.  Over the past 3 years we've experienced: 3 cancelled cycles, 2 egg retrievals, 2 failed transfers, Covid, biopsys,  hysterescopys, and the emotional highs and lows that come along with it all.  I've been through cycles where my husband has been by my side through the whole process, and I've been through egg retrievals on my own because of covid.  After our last cancelled cycle, we took our time and decided that we were not ready to give up on our dream of expanding our family, and are finding hope as we go forward to our 6th IVF cycle!
