I underwent egg retrieval/freezing in July of 2021. From the very beginning, the staff at Olive was absolutely incredible. I had flown to Vancouver from Northern BC and was staying alone to do all of my injections since my husband wasn’t able to attend due to the current Covid regulations. The first shot was the scariest but it gave me an immense amount of confidence for the subsequent shots that were required for retrieval.

The process felt simple, I had some bloating, headaches, and fatigue but nothing some rest and relaxation couldn’t fix. On the day of egg retrieval, I was extremely nervous to undergo the procedure in fear that it would hurt, and that I couldn’t have my husband there to hold my hand. The nurse I had was an angel, she rubbed my head and reassured me I was doing fantastic and it was almost over.

Before I knew it, the process was over and I was put in the recovery area. The recovery from the retrieval was the most difficult part. I had some slight OHSS symptoms and tenderness that took about 6 days to recover from. Once my cycle returned after the retrieval, I felt totally back to normal and like the whole thing never happened!
