Your First Appointment

Here is what you can expect at your first visit with your Olive physician and what steps you need to complete before your first appointment to ensure that there are no delays in starting your treatment at Olive.

Preparing for your First Appointment

Once we have contacted you and discussed your history, you will receive a Welcome email from your care team. Please read this email carefully as it contains important information such as your username and password for your Patient Portal login and all your personalized testing requirements.

It is essential that you complete these fertility tests prior to your appointment so that your Olive physician has a full understanding of your fertility status. This will enable us to review your history and test results at your initial consultation which will help with treatment recommendations.  If you have already completed some of your testing, results can be forwarded directly to us or uploaded by you into your Patient Portal.

6 Steps You Need to Take Before Coming to Your First Appointment:

  • 1

Review your Welcome Email for your personalized testing requirements and Patient Portal Login information.

  • 2

Login to the Patient Portal. A link to do so is in the middle of the Olive homepage. Your username and password can be found in your Welcome email.

Take printed requisitions to your local lab on have testing done on the appropriate days. These days will be outlined in your Welcome email.

  • 6

If you have already completed some of the testing we’ve requested, results can be forwarded to us from your doctor’s office. In come cases, you may need a special consent form to release this information. This consent form can be printed from your Patient Portal, but you will need to contact us first to let us know. If you have copies of your results they can be uploaded directly into your Patient Portal.

Please note that any upcoming appointment dates and times can be checked in the Patient Portal.

What to Expect

When you first arrive at Olive, the receptionist will welcome you and take your photo or a copy of your photo ID. Proper patient identification is essential for your care and safety. Your photo will never be shared or used for any purpose other than your identification.

Your consultation will last approximately 30-45 minutes. During your consultation your physician will review your history or any previous treatment, discuss your test results, answer any questions you may have and make recommendations for next steps. You might have a transvaginal ultrasound during this visit to assess your ovaries and uterus or be asked to return on another date.

During your visit, your physician will summarize your results and your history and make recommendations on a treatment plan. Sometimes additional tests are required, which will be discussed with you at that time, but often you can move forward with a plan to get started on the next steps in your journey.
