Ministry of Health Funding IVF Program - Application Process for Olive Vancouver, Victoria and Surrey

Ministry of Health Funding IVF Program - Application Process

Applications are submitted on your behalf by the Olive Fertility Centre. Please read the information carefully to determine when you can expect further communication from Olive Fertility Centre and when you can expect your application submission to the Ministry of Health.

  • The application process starts on July 2, 2025
  • Applications are submitted in chronological order based on the date of your consultation or follow-up appointment with your physician, starting from March 8, 2024.
  • This means that the earlier the appointment date (on or after March 8, 2024), the earlier the application will be submitted. This process was established by the BC Ministry of Health, and must be followed by all healthcare providers.
  • If you don’t know the date of your consultation or follow-up appointment closest to March 8, 2024, please contact your PCC to send you the confirmation date.
  • Before we can submit your application the Ministry of Health and Olive Fertility Centre require consents from both you and your partner (if applicable).
  • It’s important note that you will need to submit your 2024 Notice of Assessment (NOA) with your application. Instructions on how to do this will be sent when you receive your confirmation email.

How and When Your Application Will Be Submitted

We are currently sending out consent forms and submitting Ministry of Health applications for appointment dates in March & April 2024. If you have seen a doctor during that time and have signed your consent forms, you should expect an application submission confirmation email in the next 3-4 weeks. Based on the Ministry of Health guidelines we are unable to expedite your application under any circumstances.   We will continue to update the application date window on this page so please check back regularly for progress.

  • You and your partner (if applicable) will receive an email notification from Olive Fertility Centre linking you to EngagedMD, our consenting platform, on next steps to fill out the consent forms for both the Ministry of Health and Olive Fertility Centre

  • Once you and your partner (if applicable) sign your consents, Olive is notified and starts the application. If there are any errors with the consents, they will be addressed at that time through email.
  • Application for funding is submitted by Olive to the Ministry of Health’s portal.

  • Once the application is complete, you will be sent an email confirming your  application has been submitted to the Ministry of Health.

  • This confirmation email will contain the date the application was submitted and instructions on how to upload your Notice of Assessment to the Ministry of Health’s portal and general details about next steps.

Important to note:

  • You will have 30 days to upload your 2024 Notice of Assessments to the Ministry of Health’s portal. This is a secure portal supported by the Ministry of Health.
    • If you do not provide your Notice of Assessment to the Ministry of Health Portal within 30 days of the application submission, you will lose your application spot and will need to reapply at the current date.
    • Olive recommends you file income taxes for the previous year and obtain a Notice of Assessment prior to initializing your application process.
    • Olive is not responsible for supporting patients in obtaining a copy of their Notice of Assessment.
    • Your Notice of Assessment will remain private and secure within the Ministry of Health Portal. Olive will NOT have access to your Notice of Assessment at any time.

  • Once the Ministry of Health has received your Notice of Assessment, they will review your application and advise on a decision whether funding has been approved or declined. Funding decisions may take up to 30 days.

  • Once the Ministry of Health has reached a decision, you will be notified:
  • If funding is approved you will receive an email from Olive Fertility Centre advising of the funding amount you have been approved for. This communication will include information regarding next steps, cycle start timing and how to apply your funds to your treatment.
  • If funding is declined the Ministry of Health will send you a letter (or email in the even that Canada Post is on strike) advising the reason for their decision.
  •

Please be assured that Olive has a team an experienced team managing the demand on this new BC Ministry of Health IVF Funding Program and we are actively communicating with patients chronologically for consenting and applications.

We understand everyone is hoping to access this funding and we are doing what we can to get you there.
