KELOWNANOW - I AM WOMAN (This article was originally published in the inaugural edition of I Am Woman in Okanagan)
On International Woman's Day, March 8, 2022, Dr. Kathy Wise, Olive Fertility Centre Kelowna shared her experiences in making dreams of parenthood come true for many people by providing infertility treatments in the BC Interior. Dr. Wise leads an all-women team and has fostered an environment of positivity, inclusiveness, and support for her entire staff. Dr. Wise runs the clinic with a phenomenal team of professionals who are adored by their patients for giving compassionate, well-rounded care.
Olive Fertility Centre Kelowna is the only clinic able to provide infertility treatments in the BC Interior. Before Dr. Wise co-founded the clinic (formerly the Kelowna Regional Fertility Centre) in 2008, she worked as an obstetrician gynaecologist in Kelowna, and saw many of her patients come up against a wall when they struggled to conceive.
There aren't many people who can say they've played a meaningful role in making dreams of parenthood come true, but that's what Dr. Kathy Wise and her team at Olive Fertility Kelowna get to do every day. In fact, they’ve done it over 2000 times to date.
Inclusion of all gender and sexually diverse people is an important value of Olive Fertility Centre. We are continuously striving to create an environment of compassionate belonging where all of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community are supported, valued and respected.
Olive Fertility Centre resides on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Tsleil-waututh Nations (Vancouver and Surrey clinics), of the Lekwungen people (Victoria clinic), of the syilx/Okanagan people (Kelowna clinic) and of the Lheidli T’enneh First Nation (Blossom Fertility clinic in Prince George).
