Dr. Mohamed Ali Bedaiwy MD, PhD, FACOG, FRCSC is a Fertility Specialist at Olive and Professor with tenure and Division Head of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Faculty of Medicine, the University of British Columbia.
Dr. Bedaiwy received his medical degree from Assiut University School of Medicine, Egypt, where he graduated Valedictorian, summa cum laude. He completed his Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University Hospital Case Medical Center, CWRU, Cleveland, Ohio, USA. He then went on to complete a Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, and a Fellowship in Reproductive Sciences, University of Toronto. Dr Bedaiwy obtained a PhD from the University of Maastricht, the Netherlands for his work on ovarian tissue cryopreservation and transplantation.
Dr Bedaiwy is a prolific author with over 375 peer reviewed papers, abstracts, book chapters and videos. His research is focused on advancing basic and clinical knowledge about endometriosis, Recurrent Pregnancy Loss, Uterine Disorders and assisted reproduction.. He also has interest in minimally invasive surgery and fertility preservation.
Dr Bedaiwy has served on review committees for the NICHD and is an oral examiner for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He has been the recipient of many international awards for surgical and research excellence from different societies from USA, Canada, Egypt, Jordan, Europe, and Australia. In addition to English Dr Bedaiwy is a native Arabic speaker.
