We had quite the journey: 3 miscarriages, including losing a twin pregnancy. Each time we had ultrasounds with heartbeats before losing them. We had 1 failed IUI and 2 IVF treatments before deciding to try a donor egg cycle in Seattle. When that failed we were waiting to start another round with a frozen embryo when we got pregnant naturally. I was 42 years old. We were very scared to get excited as we had miscarried so many times. However, our miracle baby was born nine months later! He is now a happy and healthy 8-year-old.
#1in6 I've been on this journey for 8 years. I've been treated by Olive and Kelowna Regional Fertility Centre. Ive done 3x IUI and IVF (1 egg retrieval, 3 embryo transfers, 6 embryos left, waiting for an operative hysteroscopy to remove a fibroid so we canproceed with another embryo transfer)
We are #1in6. We waited to try and have children until we felt like everything was in place. We had careers, were married and home owners. But by that time we were well into our 30’s and nothing happened.
