Our journey began when we were travelling to our favourite place, Bulgaria. This country has a special place in our hearts. We were visiting friends when I showed them the ring I was going to propose to Amanda with. Fast forward a few years, we were once again in Bulgaria when we knew we wanted to start a family and settle down in our hometown of Kelowna, Canada.
After almost 5 years of trying to conceive and working with doctors, plus 4 failed rounds of IUIwe looked at the thought of proceeding down the journey of In Vitro Fertilization (IVF). Neither Bryce or I had anything medically wrong that prevented us from having children or impacted the process, it just simply wasn't going to happen on its own.
Becoming a mother was my greatest dream in life. I devoted my 20s to my education and establishing my career. I spent my 30s in a series of relationships with the sole purpose of finding the right man to spend my life with and with whom I would have a child. Just before I turned 36, I decided to take control of my life and my fertility and have a child on my own before it was too late. My family and friends all supported my decision.
